What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a training aimed at full attention, a practice in which we become aware of our experience moment by moment.
It has been popularized by a program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the United States, called MBSR -Mindfulness-based stress reduction-.
Mindfulness was born from the combination of medicine, psychology and Eastern meditative traditions and is now the main training with great scientific recognition in the world of health.
We humans tend to think – often about the past or the future – rather than the possibility of being here and now, living in the present moment. This generates emotions, attention problems, stress and dissatisfaction. Living on autopilot also makes us react to experiences instead of stopping and seeing before acting.
If you want to compare these statements with your experience, you can observe what you pay attention to when you shower: Do you enjoy the physical sensations of the water running over your body or the smell of the shower gel, or are you thinking about what you will do that day?
The purpose of Mindfulness is to learn to maintain the intention of being present, oriented to our experience, accepting with kindness what happens. This will have as a direct consequence a greater degree of happiness regardless of external factors.
Mindfulness for well-being:
The Mindfulness Program, MBW, is made up of 9 sessions dedicated to personal transformation with all the key tools and resources of scientific protocols. It is the most intensive program I offer and has a great impact on the lives of participants. Throughout the sessions, I will guide you on a journey of self-knowledge through full awareness and its benefits.
In a world where activity is increasingly frenetic, MBW proposes training ourselves to pay attention to ourselves, to others and to reality as it is. Along with this, it proposes learning to accept what happens, enabling the development of capacities that help us better cope with conflicting situations and emotions.
The program can be done in person and/or online.
In a nurturing group environment, you will learn practical and accessible tools that will transform your relationship with stress and enhance your physical, mental and emotional well-being.
The sessions include explanations, practical exercises on attention, relaxation, meditation, yoga and dialogues about the experience and learning that is being achieved.
The MBW course is made up of:
- 9 structured sessions with a great theoretical and practical framework
- Guided meditations, both static and in motion, and hatha yoga-type stretching exercises.
- Activities for individual and group reflection
- Records of experience
- Student Notebook with the readings corresponding to each session.
